Cancun - Catamaran Isla Mujeres Excursion

On our third day of vacation, we went on a catamaran ride out to Isla Mujeres.

The day consisted of snorkeling, a form of parasailing, a trip to 'market' on Isla Mujeres, a dance party on board the catamaran, and lunch at a little restaurant.

After snorkeling...we got to see and hold a sea urchin, which was really neat.  It suctioned to your hand, but turns out they weren't supposed to let us hold that!  So no pictures could be taken.  Put you gotta love the post snorkel face with the marks on your head!

Neal and Bob were the first ones up on the parasail.  I went as well.  Women beware, your lifted up fast out of the water and that little boat behind us got to see a little of my behind as my drawers were pulled slightly!!! Yikes!

 Arriving at Isla Mujeres.
I wore some of my new comfy stretch bracelets along with my new hair ties.  My wrists still have a slight tan line from them and it's been nearly 3 weeks, hehe!

We went past a beautiful home on the way to lunch.

I think Bob was tired of me taking pics by this point :)

After lunch, the crew wanted to get the party started, Neal was an unlucky soul as they kept bringing the bottle for him to drink!  I thought we weren't going to take drinks from people that we didn't order...but I guess this is another exception!

Natasha, smartly, wanted nothing to do with that red Mellow Yellow bottle!

And we were back towards the resort zone of Cancun!
Overall, the excursion was fun, but I think if we had thought more, we may have tried to do something a little more adventurous like a trip to some ruins in Tulum, snorkeling in cenotes, a bike tour, or even a zip line tour.  Not saying the catamaran wasn't great, but I feel like doing something a little more unique to the area would have been fun.  I looked at this as a good trip, but that we could also have a booze cruise back home on dad's boat!

Question of the Day:
Have you been to Cancun?  If so what excursion did you do that you would recommend?

  2. Congrats on the trip, hope you enjoyed it. Isla mujeres is great for activities underwater, and there are also some nice locations to visit when vacationing, like the lighthouse of puntasur and hacienda mundaca.
